BIM Software Will Facilitate Building Construction, Maintenance - Shaziman

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- Construction and maintenance of buildings in the country will be better facilitated with the use of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, according to Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor.

Speaking to reporters here Thursday after laying the foundation stone for the National Cancer Institute (NCI), a BIM pilot project, he said developed countries had already been using the application.

BIM is a digital process modelled for generating and managing building data during its life cycle. The benefits of BIM are clash detection analysis and construction simulation, among others.
